Choose The Right Built In Oven

Wall ovens or built-ins function the same as any range, just without the cooktop. They were designed to free up space in the kitchen, and to give it a custom look. There are single wall ovens, double wall ovens, single wall oven with microwave, or double wall oven with microwave, or a combination of any of these, with or without a broiling or storage tray.

These types of appliances also come in a few different sizes, 24-inch, 27-inch, and 30-inches wide. Their heights vary depending upon the combination you choose. The important thing is to measure, measure, measure! It would be best to have a contractor come to the site and do the measure prior to you shopping around.

Gas Wall Oven or Electric Wall Oven

If you step into any chef’s kitchen you’ll discover that most use electric, convection ovens. Higher-end models of ovens have other technology that combines the use of microwaves and baking to produce an almost perfect meal. GE calls theirs "trivection", but I’m only going to cover the basics here. Chef’s prefer convection ovens for their fast and even baking. Convection ovens have a fan inside of the cavity that circulates the heat evenly throughout the cavity to produce that even bake.Of course this technology comes with a price. So if a convection oven is out of your price range, most heavy cookers would prefer electric wall ovens for their even baking abilities.

Energy Efficiency

Like ranges, these appliances are not considered to be energy efficient appliances. So don't waste your valuable time comparing energy consumption. If any brand name claims to be ENERGY STAR, double check with Energy Star this is a government site that will inform you of every energy compliant appliance made in the U.S.
